Christophe Labenne, Manager of Cru Bourgeois Château Poujeaux (AOC Moulis), took the time to share with Millesima his experience with the 2011 vintage.
This ‘winegrower’s vintage’ posed some challenges in terms of quantity and grape selection, but Château Poujeaux took great care in sorting its berries during the harvest, allowing cabernet sauvignon grapes to excel in the final blend from this fine terroir.
Specifically for the 2011, we have a more classic vintage already showing great freshness and beautiful aromatic qualities on the nose, which lets us project the greatness that will further develop during aging. Also, despite a more fresh and pronounced acidity, we have a nice suppleness, that gives a well rounded, balanced and concentrated vintage.
Robert Parker recently gave Château Poujeaux 2011 a rating of 87-89. Several formats of Château Poujeaux 2011 are available from Millesima!Purchase Ch. Poujeaux 2011
