Chateau de Sales from Pomerol releases its 2013 vintage
Chateau de Sales, a large property in Pomerol with its 47.5 hectares of planted vines, was released today en primeur. This chateau has been family owned for 5 centuries, and produces wines characterized by its silky appearance.
Chateau de Sales reflects and benefits from the local terroir of Pomerol AOC. The soil consists of fine gravel, sand, and iron rich clay (crasse de fer). Merlot composes the majority of the wine of Chateau de Sales, which is characterized as fruity and flexible, and which truly expresses the terroir of the region.
Using traditional cultivation practices, meticulous efforts were made for the delicate 2013 vintage. Such levels of unpredictable weather permitted the chateau to highlight the importance of terroir and the human component for this 2013 vintage.
Through increased vigilance, and lower than previous year’s output – due to meticulous grape sorting – Château de Sales upholds its reputation and level of quality.Chateau de Sales 2013 available for purchase
