DomCourteillacR_1590_Macro_2010NM_C_ref-300x199Domaine de Courteillac is located 20 minutes south-east of Saint-Emilion and 14 km south of Castillon la Bataille. The estate is located on the highest plateau in Entre-Deux-Mer and the property covers 27 hectares of vineyards, surrounded by forest. The soil is similar to that of Saint-Emilion, with layers of chalk, clay and gravel.

The work in the vineyards at Domaine de Courteillac is extremely detailed and thoughtful. The plantings are composed of 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc. The average vine age in the vineyard is around fifteen years old.

Stéphane Derenoncourt is the current consultant oenologist at the chateau. Every year, he and the rest of the team at the estate, continue to work to create wines of great elegance and finesse, which can stand out among the top of the Bordeaux Superieur appellation.
