Champagne Grand Siècle: Handcrafted art of highest standards

Many of us appreciate the non-vintage Brut Champagne whose promise is to represent the style of the house every year. On occasion, we are able to taste vintage Champagne (perhaps less frequently, for budget reasons). These vintage sparkling wines show great character, though of course not in the sense of uniform style! The “Grand Siècle” from Laurent-Perrier is one of these outstanding examples of premium Champagnes. But do we actually know the DNA of this Champagne? Let us discover the charismatic personality of this renowned champagne!

2016, a year dedicated to “Grand Siècle”

Did you know that the noble Champagne Grand Siècle from Laurent Perrier was named the best Champagne in 2016 by FINE Champagne Magazine and thetastingbook.com?

The promise of Grand Siècle: THE CREATION OF A PERFECT YEAR

Grand Siècle is the ideal Champagne, thanks to the talented founder of Laurent-Perrier, Bernard de Nonancourt, who decided to create a new type of cuvée in the 1950s, surpassing the limits of even the best vintages, in search of this perfection “Blend the best with the best to obtain the best.” Laurent-Perrier has set the goal – with the best terroir, the highest quality requirements at all levels and the know-how of successful cellar masters – to raise its name to the highest level with the art of blending.

AN INNOVATION OF HIGHEST STANDARDS

The cellar master of Laurent-Perrier blended three exceptional and complementary vintages, all Grands Crus: one year for structure, one for finesse and one for exceptional freshness. Not just one, but three extraordinary complementary vintages were selected to create the perfect interplay of aromas and savours. Thanks to the long ageing period and the selection of 11 lots Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, the same masterful character is recreated every time.

Grand Siècle in the glass is a promise of balance, finesse and elegance. This rich sparkling wine will express its incredible aromatic depth when tasted at the ideal temperature. A serving temperature of 10 to 12°C is recommended. The Grand Siècle of Laurent-Perrier presents shimmering and very fine bubbles. The nose is intense and complex with slightly candied citrus aromas, roasted almonds, pastries, fine notes of honey and gingerbread. On the palate, this exceptional Champagne is full-bodied with a developing and savoury profile. The remarkable freshness is evoked by limestone mineral notes. Grand Siècle by Laurent-Perrier ensures a perfect balance, subtle blend of strength and delicacy.
