It has been passed around many different families and now belongs to Grands Millesimes de France. The vineyard extends over a total of 90 hectares with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot planted on gravel from the Garonne.Chateau Beychevelle En Primeurs
Chateau Sociando-Mallet – Haut-Médoc
Situated in the Haut-Medoc appellation, Chateau Sociando-Mallet began in 1633. Originally belonging to a Basque aristocrat, Sir Sociondo. Over time, the domain became known as Sociando due to a simple spelling error. It was not until 1831 that the name Mallet was added, thanks to Marie-Elisabeth Alaret. Marie-Elisabeth, the niece of Jean-Lamothe and wife of Achille Mallet, was the owner at the time. Sylvie Gautreau, Jean Gautreau’s daughter and owner since 1969, continues to strive for excellence upholding her family’s tradition. The vineyard of 92 hectares is planted on gravel from the Garonne and a sub-soil of clay limestone. The grape varieties planted here are 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc.Chateau Sociando-Mallet En Primeurs
