The 2016 Primeurs campaign continues today with the following releases from Pomerol and Pessac-Leognan.

Located in the heart of Pomerol, Chateau Clinet offers an ideal terroir for making a very great wine. The parcels are on a bed of güntzian gravel. The property has been owned by the Laborde family since 1998. They strive to offer wines of the highest quality. The property has 11 hectares with 90% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% Cabernet Franc planted.

Chateau Smith Haut-Lafitte en primeurs 2016Chateau Smith Haut-Lafitte – Pessac-Leognan

Chateau Smith Haut-Lafitte is situated in the heart of the Pessac-Leognan appellation. It is one of the oldest wineries in Bordeaux, founded by Bosq. Noble house is 1365. It was not until the 18th century that the Scottish George Smith added his name to the castle. In 1842, Mr. Duffour-Dubergier inherited the castle from his mother. He later goes on to become mayor of the city of Bordeaux, President of the Bordeaux Chamber of Commerce, the general Council of the Gironde, and a member of the Bordeaux Wine classification of 1855. This domain has had the title of Grand Cru since 1990 when Daniel Cathiard perfectly combined modern vinification techniques with more traditional methods. The vineyard is 78 hectares and has a terroir that consists of gravel, sand, and limestone. The majority of the grapes planted are Cabernet Sauvignon. The other varieties planted are Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot.

Chateau La Fleur de Gay en Primeurs 2016Chateau La Fleur de Gay – Pomerol

Chateau La Fleur de Gay is a property located in the Pomerol appellation which dates back to the 18th century. The property is 3 parcels of land that covers an area of 2 hectares and includes various terroirs. The plot named “La Fleur” is planted on clay; “Gay” is composed of gravel; “Groupey” is planted on large gravel as well. The red grape varieties planted for Chateau La Fleur de Gay are Merlot and Cabernet Franc.
