Jean Gautreau, Owner of Château Sociando-Mallet (Haut-Medoc) shares with Millesima his thoughts on the 2011, and how they compare to his recent vintages of 2008, 2009 and 2010. He believes that in the last four years wonderful wines have been produced on his estate, noting the fact that 2011 is underrated.
2011 is a very colorful wine as you can see. This wine is very ripe like the 2008 and 2009 vintages, and also very round. This is a wine that can be consumed a few years after the bottling in 2013, but that also has the potential to age. This is thanks to our terroir between Saint Estephe and Pauillac.
Robert Parker recently gave Château Sociando-Mallet 2011 a rating of 90-93. Several formats of Château Sociando-Mallet 2011 are available from Millesima!
