Classification: 2ème cru classé en 1855
One of three Léoville estates created by inheritance, marriage and sale. The estate is noted for its distinctive architecture, which deftly blends modern materials with traditional forms. Similarly, the winemaking combines historic terroir with the precision allowed by cutting-edge methods. The vineyards have been extensively replanted since the late 1970s, and each plot is vinified separately in its own vat. The super-second’s wines reflect the balance and equilibrium for which Saint-Julien is noted, and are considered some of the best not just in the appellation but in the entire Médoc.
